recruitment updates

Hey ladies,

Just wondering how everyone is doing with their recruitment efforts?? I spoke with Emily via email after I messed up with my reply all... I mentioned that she should talk with esp Betsy at summer league about our bowling fundraiser. It sounds like she is someone who would both work very hard to get people to attend and would benefit from having a few extra dollars. But it got me thinking -- how are we doing with recruiting in general?? Has Molly or Eleanor or Courtenay or Kara expressed any interest??

Well it's time for week 1 of training in Rochester to commence. Last week was tough for me b/c I had 8 finals during the week and I spent a lot of dinners with people that I won't get to see all summer, so my workouts definitely suffered - but I'm ready to turn that around! See you guys for Chicago Cup!

How Are Things Going?

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to check in to see how things are going. T wrote in a comment in the last posting. I'll write my ideas here.

I did a hard 3 mile run yesterday (3 miles in sub 25 minutes). I felt pretty good about that. After looking at T's wonderful training schedule, I'm realizing that some things will not work for me. I often get bored of the track easily if I don't mix things up. So, I think I'm going to incorporate a lot more variety in my workouts. Also, playing ultimate makes my schedule a little crazy.

Anyway, feel free to write your thoughts here. Post pictures, include songs...go crazy.

Welcome to Training

Last night, we got together at Tilli's to welcome the creation of a ladies training regiment. With drinks in hand and a schedule in mind, we committed to two months of training in preparation of the Boston '08 tournament. We wanted to redeem ourselves of our performance at JFK and really make an effort to be fit and ready.

T, Amanda, Mags, Mo, Betsy, Laura, and me (Jeanne) put our athletic prowess together to create an all-star work-out for all-star athletes. We wanted to go back in time: back to the old school days of v-sit and reach, arm hangings, shuttle runs, and sit-ups. We also wanted some of the more hard-core exercises, such as the beep test, fartleks, and track sprints.

Wherever this may lead us, we have this medium to express our successes and encourage one another to be awesome on this ladies' squad.

Hey Ho...Let's Go Chicago!
